Menthol weakens on fall in demand

Menthol prices fell by Rs 5 per kg today owing to reduced offtake by consuming units. Increased arrivals from producing belts in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on the prices.

Menthol bold crystal, flake and mentha oil prices fell by Rs 5 to settle at Rs 1,405, Rs 1,365 and Rs 1,305 per kg, respectively.

Market analysts said reduced offtake by consuming units against increased arrivals from producing belts, put pressure on the menthol prices.
