Menthol weakens on subdued demand

Menthol prices fell by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today owing to reduced offtake by consuming units.

Increased arrivals from producing region in Uttar Pradesh (UP) also put pressure on the prices.

Menthol bold crystal, flake and mentha oil prices fell by Rs 5 each to Rs 1,375, Rs 1,325 and Rs 1,270 per kg, respectively. 

Marketmen said reduced offtake by consuming units against increased arrivals from producing belts in UP markets mainly put pressure on menthol prices.
