The local base metals market had a quiet week in trading, on the back of lacklustre activity on the London Metal Exchange (LME). While, tin slabs saw the maximum rise of over Rs 10, the rest of the metals remained range-bound and few declined by a very minor sum. |
Locally, the price of nickel cathodes rose to close at Rs 778.00 per kg, from Rs 780.00 on Monday. |
Copper wire bars rose to Rs 208.00 from Rs 207.00 on Monday. Copper heavy scraps closed at Rs 181.00 on Monday, the same as last week. Through the week however, the price was at Rs 182. |
Copper utensil scrap ended similarly, at Rs 162 though the price was at Rs 163 on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and brass utensil scraps lost by Rs 1 to close at Rs 126. |
Brass sheet cutting showed similar signs and closed at Rs 134 on Monday, a price at which it remained all week, down from Rs 1 last Monday. Aluminium utensil scraps closed at Rs 84.50 from Rs 83. |
The price of aluminium ingots closed minorly higher at Rs 99.50, from Monday's Rs 99 and lead ingots closed at Rs 52 from Rs 50.00. |
Zinc slabs closed at Rs 73.50 from Rs 76.50 last week, the steepest decline locally. |
Tin slabs on the other hand increased and closed at Rs 422 from Rs 412 in the previous week. |
Copper light scraps traded at Rs 176, absolutely flat all week and Copper sheet cutting too remained at Rs 173 all week. |
