The stocks of companies engaged in the gems and jewellery business have had a mixed run between November 2004 and January 2005 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
 
Sales rose in the festive season but prices dipped after December and then recovered somewhat in the case of most companies.
 
Golkunda Diamonds & Jewellery shares gained from Rs 5.85 to Rs 8.06 and SB&T International from Rs 70.25 to Rs 78.55.
 
Shrenuj & Co firmed up from Rs 52.00 to Rs 63.95, Neogem from Rs 3.10 to Rs 5.90 and Su-Raj Diamonds from Rs 28.50 to Rs 32.50.
 
Sunraj Diamond Exports strengthened from Rs 5.22 to Rs 10.49 and Parekh Platinum from Rs 9.61 to Rs 12.21 while Rajesh Exports soared from Rs 207.55 to Rs 353.50.
 
Goldiam International moved from Rs 86.45 to Rs 90.10 and Shyam Star Gems from Rs 1.25 to Rs 3.90.
 
Suashish Diamonds declined from Rs 82.40 to Rs 69.70.
 
Classic Diamonds shares eased from Rs 119.25 on November 1, to today's close of Rs 117.70.
 
Silver Smith India eased from Rs 13.20 to Rs 13.00. Sovereign Diamonds skid from Rs 2.83 to Rs 2.80.
