Mixed outing in late trades, HDFC shines

The market is witnessing a fluctuating trend in late noon trades. Sustained buying in select heavyweights, banks, auto and other old economy stocks has pushed the index back into the green. The Sensex is now up six points at 6,374. The Nifty is up five points at 1,989.

ONGC has jumped 2.93% (Rs 24) to Rs 858. ITC is up Rs 2 at Rs 1,278.

SBI has flared up 2.86% (Rs 18) to Rs 659. HDFC Bank is up a rupee at Rs 538. ICICI Bank, however, is still trading with losses at Rs 380 - down Rs 10 or 2.60%.

HDFC has spurted 7% (Rs 48) to Rs 737. While Reliance Energy has gained 1.23% (Rs 6) to Rs 536, Tata Power has notched up 3.47% gains (Rs 12) to Rs 351. Zee is up 1.92% (Rs 3) at Rs 135.

Hero Honda has scaled up 4.72% (Rs 24) to Rs 544. While Bajaj has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 11) to Rs 1,031, Maruti is up 1.65% (Rs 7) at Rs 418. Tata Motors is up a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 410.

While Reliance is down a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 545, Bharti has extended its losses by 3.13% (Rs 6) to Rs 200.

Dr. Reddy's and Cipla are still marginally up at Rs 741 and Rs 251, respectively. Ranbaxy, however, continues to reel under selling pressure at Rs 1,017 - down Rs 46 or 4.34%.
