Mixed start for Asian markets

The Asian markets are trading mixed with Jakarta Composite, KLSE Composite, Nikkei and Seoul Composite trading in the red.

The Japanese stocks moved lower in early trade, with car shares weaker on supply worries after Toyota Motor Corp. reportedly said that it would temporarily halt all production at its North American plants due to parts shortages. The benchmark Nikkei Stock Average fell 1% to 9,607.

On the other hand, Hang Seng advanced 1% and Straits Times added 0.3% at 3,150.

Shanghai Composite and Taiwan Weighted are closed for the day due to public holiday
