Markets in Asia trade mixed taking weak cues from US. Wall Street indices ended mixed on news of more monetary easing inferred from Bernanke's speech, however concerns related to banks' exposure to forecloser losses loomed on the markets.
The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 0.29 percent, to 11,062.78. The Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 0.20 percent, to 1,176.19, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.37 percent, to 2,468.77.
In Asia, markets in Hong Kong slouched on back of losses in resource-sector shares; the Hang Seng Index dropped 0.98% to 23,547.77; chinese property and coal stocks continued to lead the gains.
The Shanghai Composite Index climbed 0.4% to 2,980.926, recording seventh straight session of winning streak.
Japan's Nikkei edged 0.5% higher led by short-covering after the index lost close to one percent in the last trading session.
