Mixed Trend For Indian Adrs

Most Indian securities listed on the US exchanges witnessed a mixed trend on Monday. Infy, the Infosys Tech ADR finished down 90 cents to $69 and Wit, the Wipro ADR too settled 32 cents lower to $28.41.

Say, the Satyam Computer ADR added 7 cents to $9.99 but SLT, the Silverline Tech ADR shed 2 cents to $0.58. Elsewhere, Internet stocks were mixed. Sify, the Satyam Infoway ADR finished 8 cents lower to $1.10 and Redf, the Rediff.com ADR added 5 cents to $0.38.

Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial average fell 75.95 points to 8368.04 while the Nasdaq Composite dipped 15.26 points to 1315.87.

 

But banking stocks remained in the limelight ahead of the mid-term credit policy. IBN, the ICICI Bank ADR rallied 24 cents to $6.12. But HDB, the HDFC Bank ADR settled marginally down 3 cents to $13.29.

Telecom stocks were subdued as MTE, the MTNL ADR, lost 34 cents to $3.763, after it came out with a disappointing result last week. VSL, the VSNL ADR, was unchanged at $3.99.
