Mixed trend in base metal prices

Nickel prices rebounded at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to good demand from industrial users, while select copper prices recovered marginally on speculative positioning amidst better Lme advice.

Meanwhile, brass and lead edged down on lower demand from consumer industries. Nickel prices rebounded to gain by Rs 50 per kilo to Rs 1,050 from overnight closing level of Rs 1,025.

Copper sheet cutting moved up by Rs 3 per kilo to Rs 335 from yesterday's close of Rs 332.

Copper cable scrap, copper armiture, copper wire bar and brass utensils scrap and inched up by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 347, Rs 338, Rs 375, and Rs 243 respectively.

 

However, lead edged down by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 101 from Rs 103 yesterday. Brass sheet cutting and copper utensils scrap both softened by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 249 and 323.
