Mixed trend prevails in Chennai foodgrain market

In a mixed trend, prices of toor dal and moong dal declined, while maida and sooji went up in the wholesale foodgrains market here during the week under review.

After holding on to their previous week close levels, toor dal and moong dal eased on Friday.

Toor dal opened at its previous week close of Rs 6,200 per quintal on Monday and shed Rs 200 per quintal on Friday to close at Rs 6,000. 

Moong dal traded at Rs 6,900 per quintal on Monday and moved down by Rs 200 on Friday to end the week at Rs 6,700.  

Maida (90 kg) rose by Rs 50 to Rs 1,700 from Rs 1,650, while sooji firmed up by the same amount to Rs 50 to Rs 1,850 over the previous week's close.

 

Urad dal at Rs 6,600, gram dal at Rs 2,800, sugar at Rs 2,700 and wheat at Rs 1,800 remained unchanged.
