MKT 'MAY'HEM: Sensex down 431pts

The Sensex is now down 431 points at 10,507.

The index was frozen at 9,827 - down 1,112 points when trading was suspended for an hour around 1200 noon.

The RBI has issued a statement saying that banks will provide liquidity to brokers and exchanges.
