Monsanto, MindTree lead mid-cap surge

The benchmark indices continue to trade firm with modest gains. While the mid-cap and small-cap indices have extended gains. The BSE Mid-cap index has advanced 46 points to 7665. The Small-cap index
has rallied 95 points.

Monsanto India and MindTree are the major gainers in the mid-cap space, up nearly 6% each at Rs 1,935 and Rs 539, respectively. KGN Industries, Allcargo, Shriram City, India Infoline, FDC, Aban Offshore and Fresenius Kabi Oncology are the other major gainers.

On the other hand, Money Matters Financial, Shree Ashtavinayak and Amtek Auto are the major losers.

Binani Industries with a gain of nearly 17% is the top gainer in the small-cap space. It is followed by PVP Ventures, TTK Healthcare, Sahara One, ISMT and Symphony have all rallied over 10% each.

Surana Industries, TTK Prestige, Goenja Diamond, Aptech, Vesuvius India, Parenteral Drugs, Tata Metaliks, Mangalore Chemicals, Kanani Industries and Gitanjali Gems are the other major gaines.

Asian Hotels with a loss of nearly 7% is the major loser in the small-cap space. Elpro International, SVC Resources, Midfield Industries, Comfort Intech, Spectale Infotek, Urja Global, Gujarat Ambuja Exports and Resuregere Mines are the other major losers.

Meanwhile, the Sensex and Nifty are up 78 points and 22 points up each at 20,103 and 6018, respectively.
