Monsoon retreat two weeks behind schedule

 The all-round benevolent monsoon this year is finally preparing to bid adieu. Though the India Meteorological Department is non-committal on when the monsoon will start withdrawing, indications are that the retreat can begin from western Rajasthan in about a week.

 This will be almost two weeks behind schedule. A clearer picture will emerge once the current wet spell in the northwestern states abates in a couple of days. However, conditions in western Rajasthan are already indicating the monsoon
