Moong, its dal decline on sluggish demand

In an otherwise steady wholesale pulses market, moong and its dal prices fell up to Rs 200 per quintal on slack demand against adequate supply.

Traders said subdued demand against adequate stocks, which led to a fall in wholesale moong and its dal prices.

In the national capital, moong and its dal chilka local were down by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,950-4,350 and Rs 4,800-5,200, while moong dal dhoya local and best quality traded lower by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,150-5,350 and Rs 5,650-5,850 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Urad 3,700-4,250, Urad chilka (local) 4,500-4,900, best 5,000-5,300, Dhoya 5,200-5,300, Moong 3,950-4,350, Dal moong chilka local 4,800-5,200, Moong Dhoya local 5,150-5,350 and best quality 5,650-5,850

Masoor small 2,900-3,100, bold 3,100-3,350, Dal Masoor local 3,700-3,800, best quality 3,950-4,250, Malka local 3,600-3,650, best 3,750-3,850, Moth 3,700-4,000, Arhar 3,300-3,400, dal arhar dara 4,400-4,800.
