In restricted activity, moong and its dal prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today on pick up in demand from retailers.

However, gram lacked necessary buying support.

Traders said pick up in local demand following ongoing festive season and fall in arrivals mainly pushed up the wholesale moong and its dal prices.

Meanwhile, the state-run MMTC has invited bids for importing 12,000 tonnes of pulses like tur and urad from Australia and Myanmar.

Moong and its dal chilka local rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,200-5,600 and Rs 6,100-6,500, while dhoya local and best quality traded higher by the same margin at Rs 6,300-6,500 and Rs 6,700-6,900 per quintal.
