Moong, moth dips on increased arrivals

Prices of moong and moth dropped to Rs 200 per quintal on the wholesale pulses market today following increased arrivals from producing regions.

Traders said increased supplies in the face of subdued demand at prevailing higher levels mainly pulled down wholesale moong and moth prices.

Moong and its dal chilka local declined by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 3,900-4,300 and Rs 4,700-5,100 respectively, while moong dal dhoya local and best quality lost Rs 200 each to Rs 4,950-5,150 and Rs 5,450-5,650 per quintal, respectively.

Moth also eased to Rs 3,300-3,600 against last close of Rs 3,500-3,800 per quintal, respectively.

Urad 3,600-4,150, Urad chilka (local) 4,400-4,800, best 4,900-5,200, Dhoya 5,100-5,200, Moong 3,900-4,300, Dal moong chilka local 4,700-5,100, Moong Dhoya local 4,950-5,150 and best quality 5,450-5,650.

Masoor small 2,975-3,175, bold 3,150-3,400, Dal Masoor local 3,750-3,850, best quality 4,000-4,300, Malka local 3,600-3,650, best 3,750-3,850, Moth 3,300-3,600, Arhar 3,200-3,300, dal arhar dara 4,300-4,700.
