Moong prices fall on poor demand

Prices of moong today fell by Rs 200 per quintal on the wholesale market here due to poor demand at existing higher levels.

Traders said apart from sluggish demand, increased offerings by stockists also put some pressure on the prices.

Moong and its dal chilka local prices fell up to Rs 200 to Rs 5,600-6,000 and Rs 6,300-6,700, while moong dhoya local and best quality traded lower by the same margin at Rs 6,400-6,600 and Rs 6,800-7,000 per quintal.

Masoor small and bold prices fell by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,200-3,400 and Rs 3,400-3,650, while arhar and its dal dara variety lost Rs 50 each at Rs 4,350-4,450 and Rs 5,400-5,800 per quintal.

 

In line with a general weakening trend, gram and its dal local and best quality were down by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,175-2,250, Rs 2,450-2,475 and Rs 2,650-2,750 per quintal.
