Moong prices rose up to Rs 300 per quintal on the wholesale pulses market today on fresh buying by stockists on rising demand on account of the festive season.
However, moth prices fell due to lack of necessary buying support.
Traders said pick up in retailers demand to meet the ongoing festive season demand mainly led to the rise in wholesale moong prices.
Moong gained Rs 100 to Rs 5,100-5,500, while its dal chilka local, dhoya local and best quality were up by Rs 300 each to Rs 6,000-6,400, Rs 6,200-6,400 and Rs 6,600-6,800 per quintal, respectively.
On the other hand, moth fell by Rs 200 to Rs 5,500-5,800 per quintal.
