Mphasis slips after open offer by Blackstone at discount

Blackstone has made an open offer to acquire 26% stake at Rs 457.54 per share

Shares of Mphasis were down nearly 3% at Rs 454 on the Bombay Stock Exchange after Blackstone Capital Partners made an open offer to public equity shareholders of the company at Rs 457.54 per share, which is a discount to Friday's closing price of Rs 467.40.

Marble II Pte. Ltd. (the “Acquirer”) together with Marble I Pte. Ltd. (“PAC 1”) and Blackstone Capital Partners (Cayman II) VI L.P. (“PAC 2”) in their capacity as persons acting in concert with the Acquirer, has made an open offer to the public equity shareholders of Mphasis Ltd to acquire up to 54,928,161 fully paid-up equity shares of face value of Rs. 10 each at a price of Rs. 457.54 per equity share, the company said in a release today.
 

The 5.49 crore fully paid-up equity shares represents 26.00% of the total voting equity share capital on a fully diluted basis, the release added.

The stock opened at Rs 472 and touched a low of Rs 451. At 1:50pm, over 655,000 shares were traded on both the stock exchanges.
