 RIL has three business division - petrochemicals, refining and others including textiles. The petrochemicals segment includes production and marketing operations petrochemical products. The refining segment includes production and marketing operations of the petroleum refinery.  IPCL which will come under Mukesh Ambani fold posted a turnover of Rs 9,386 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005, registering a growth of 4 per cent. IPCL's operating profit (PBDIT) for the year was Rs. 1,756 crore compared to Rs. 1,251 crore in the previous year, an increase of 40 per cent.

 Cash profits of IPCL increased to Rs 1,426 crore from Rs 801 crore for the previous year, registering a growth of 78 per cent. Net profit for the year recorded an increase of 188 per cent to Rs 786 crore from Rs 273 crore in the previous year.  Reliance Energy Ltd (REL), incorporated in 1929, is a fully integrated utility engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. REL is ranked amongst India's top 20 listed private companies in terms of all major financial parameters, including assets, sales, profits and market capitalisation.

 Reliance Energy's total income for the year ended March, 2005 increased by 28 per cent to Rs 4,593 crore compared to Rs 3,583 crore in the corresponding previous year.  Its cash profit increased 41 per cent to Rs 970 crore from Rs. 686 crore in the previous year and net profit for the year recorded an increase of 42 per cent to Rs 520 crore against Rs 367 crore in the previous financial year.  Reliance Energy, is India's leading private sector utility group, with aggregate estimated group revenues of Rs 9,500 crore and total assets of Rs. 10,700 crore.  The Reliance Energy group distributes more than 21 billion units of electricity to over 25 million consumers in Mumbai, Delhi, Orissa and Goa, across an area covering 1,24,300 sq. km.  The available financial of Reliance Infocomm show that the company achieved revenue of Rs 2,700 crore and earned operating profit of Rs 160 crore in 2004. It posted a net profit of Rs 215 crore in the quarter ending March 2005.  During the financial year 2005, the company posted a net profit of Rs 51 crore against a net loss of Rs 391 crore in the previous year. During the year, its revenue grew by 99 per cent to Rs 5,387 crore and cash profit grew by 522 per cent to Rs 996 crore.  Reliance Infocomm has a market share of over 19 per cent in the Indian wireless market. Infocomm started it business as a basic service operator in 18 circles. 

The company commercially launched its CDMA-based WLL mobile service in May 2003. Its subscriber base stood at 9.3 million, representing a market share of 19 per cent as at end of March 2005.  Reliance Infocomm plans to expand its coverage from the current 1,500 towns to 5,000 by end of fiscal 07. Its subscriber base in wireline and fixed wireless terminal segments stood at 0.08 million and 1.24 million, respectively.
