Equity outflows continued for the third straight month in September, led by outflows in multicap funds, which had seen a rejig in category definitions.

Net outflows tapered to about Rs 1,000 crore (including closed-end schemes) in a month, when benchmark indices retreated 1.2 per cent. This is lower than the Rs 4,029 crore and Rs 3,845 crore of outflows seen in the previous two months.
