Mustard oil rises on local demand

In restricted activity, mustard oil traded Rs 50 per quintal higher in the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on local demand.

Castor oil in the non-edible oil section, also showed strength on increased industrial offtake. Traders said pick up in local demand influenced the wholesale mustard oil prices.

In the edible section, mustard expeller (Dadri) oil gained Rs 50 to Rs 4,800 per quintal. Mustard pakki and kachi ghani oils also traded higher by Rs 5 each to Rs 665-820 and Rs 820-920 per tin of 15 litres.

Among the non-edible section, castor oil rose by Rs 50 to Rs 6,850-6,950 per quintal on increased industrial demand.

Oilseeds: mustard seed 2,500-2,600 and groundnut seed 2,100-2,850.
Vanaspati ghee (15 litres tin) 720-830.
