Mustardseed prices eased by Rs 2.50, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 535.65 per 20 kg, in futures market today on profit booking by traders, driven by weak spot market sentiment.

Marketmen said besides profit-booking by traders, increased arrivals and fall in demand from vanaspati units in physical markets mainly pulled down mustardseed prices in futures.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, mustard seed prices for October contract moved down by Rs 2.50, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 535.65 per 20 kg, with an open interest of 75,750 lots.

Most-active September contract also shed Rs 2.15, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 529.15 per 20 kg, with an open interest of 1,23,450 lots.
