Mustardseed prices rose further by Rs 57 to Rs 3,049 per quintal in future trade today, following frantic buying by speculators driven by firm spot markets cue.
Market analysts said that less arrivals and rising demand from vanaspati and oil mills encouraged traders to increase their holdings.
At the National Commodity and Derivaties Exchange, mustardseed for June month delivery flared up by Rs 57 or 1. 91 per cent to Rs 3,049 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,420 lots.
The commodity for April month delivery moved up by Rs 26 or 0.89 per cent to Rs 2.963 per quintal in an open interest of 23,940 lots.
