Mustardseed futures up on brisk buying support

Mustardseed futures prices improved by Rs 51 to Rs 2,915 per quintal today on restricted supply and brisk buying support in spot markets.

Market analysts said reduced arrivals against heavy demand from vanaspati units and mustard oil consuming states, directed the trading sentiments here in futures trade.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, mustardseed price for the month of April month contract delivery at Jaipur surged by Rs.51 or 1.78 per cent to Rs 2,915 per quintal, with an open interest of 20,960 lots.

Prices for delivery for May also improved by Rs 47, or 1.62 per cent, to Rs 2.951 per quintal in an open interest of 20,200 lots.
