Natural rubber rises to Rs 228/kg on firm global cues

Continuing its upward trend from last week, natural rubber (NR) prices today rose by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 228 in the domestic spot market, taking strong cues from the global market.

Prices of natural rubber were ruling at Rs 223 per kg yesterday, the Rubber Board data showed.

In the international spot market at Bangkok, natural rubber prices today jumped by more than Rs 10 to Rs 251.76 per kg, against Rs 241.34 yesterday.

Similarly, at the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), rubber futures prices for April delivery were ruling at 447 yen per kg (Rs 248.23/kg), a rise of 17 yen (Rs 9.44/kg) from the last trading price.

 

NR prices in the current month have witnessed high volatility in the domestic market, with prices touching as high as Rs 230 per kg early this month, and later fell to this year's low of Rs 187 per kg on March 15.
