NCDEX clocks record trading volume of Rs 11,216 cr

The New Year has brought cheer to the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), with the bourse today announcing that it has clocked an all-time high trading volume of Rs 11,216 crore (one-way) till 1700 hours.

The exchange has clocked an all-time high trading volume of Rs 11,216 crore (one-way) owing to active trades in soya oil, guarseed, soyabean, chana and rape mustard seed, a statement issued here said.

Soya oil saw trades worth Rs 4,201 crore, soyabean Rs 1,390 crore, rape mustard seed Rs 1,021 crore, chana Rs 1,083 crore and guarseed Rs 1,715 crore till 1700 hours.

Nearly 485 members (2,081 users) participated in trading today.

 

The exchange had previously witnessed an all-time high trading volume of Rs 10,916 crore in February, 2011, and Rs 11,001 crore in July, 2011, an exchange official told PTI.

The exchange reported volumes of Rs 8,696 crore (one-way) for the whole-day trading till 2330 hours on Monday. 475 members (2,046) participated in the trading, with more than 128,220 trades.
