NGO to help develop agriculture in Kenya and Uganda

SKG Sangha, an NGO, which conceives clean development proiects for rural poor, has been roped in by UK-based consortium Total Affinity Limited to help develop agriculture in Kenya and Uganda.

The NGO would devise and implement agriculture schemes and programmes for the people of Uganda and Kenya, said Sangha director D Vidya Sagar.

SKG has received 1.30 million pound from Change Limitrf (UK) and $20 million from Green Finance (US) for its activities. IT has so far helped rural women construct 180,000 biogas plants and has provided livelihood to 60,000 families through vermi compost and large-scale organic manure units. It manufactures improved cook stoves.

 

The Sangha specialises in harvested rain water drinking water schemes, solar power and geysers, municipal solid waste management and carbon emission reduction projects.

Krish Cow Farms & Dairy Products Ltd of Mauritius has approached the Sangha for taking up its projects in Mauritius. The Sangha has agreed to supply technical knowhow for projects in that country, Vidya Sagar said.
