Nickel down 0.3% on subdued demand

Prices moved down as speculators reduced their position

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Nickel futures for May gained Rs 2.70, or 0.34%, to Rs 791.80 per kg in 6,800 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the June contract rose by Rs 2.10, or 0.26%, to Rs 798.80 per kg in 459 lots.

Prices moved down as speculators reduced their position amid subdued spot demand even as metal strengthened overseas.

Weak demand from alloy-makers mainly put pressure on the nickel futures trade.

Firming trend overseas limited the fall.

Globally, Nickel traded a shade higher at $14,839 per tonne.
