Tracking a weak trend in the entire base metals overseas and sluggish spot demand, nickel remained under pressure at futures trade here and prices fell further by 0.41%.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in October eased by Rs 3.60, or 0.41% to Rs 865.30 per kg in a turnover of 48 lots.
Similarly, nickel for delivery in November traded lower by Rs 3.10, or 0.35% to Rs 875 per kg in 1 lot.
Analysts attributed the fall in nickel prices at futures trade to subdued domestic demand, particularly from alloy-makers, and a weak trend in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange on slowing demand in China before next week's holidays.
