Nickel down 0.4% on overseas trends, subdued demand

Metal for delivery in July also shed 0.38%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Nickel prices eased by 0.44% to Rs 1,146.40 per kg in futures trade today amid a weakening trend at the London Metal Exchange and sluggish demand from alloy-makers in the domestic spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in August fell by Rs 5.10, or 0.44%, to Rs 1,146.40 per kg in a business turnover of 18 lots.

The metal for delivery in July also shed Rs 4.20, or 0.38%, to Rs 1,141.20 per kg in a turnover of 534 lots.

Market analysts said the fall in nickel prices at futures trade was mostly in tandem with a weakening trend in base metals overseas and subdued demand from alloy-makers at the domestic spot markets.
