Nickel prices fell by 0.40% to Rs 828.20 per kg in futures trading today as speculators offloaded positions amid sluggish demand and a weak trend in the global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel prices for delivery in July fell by Rs 3.30, or 0.40%, to Rs 828.20 per kg in business turnover of 1,904 lots.
Similarly, nickel prices for delivery in August traded lower by Rs 3, or 0.36%, to Rs 836.50 per kg in 108 lots.
Traders said a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange on lingering concern that demand will weaken as the economy slows in China, the world's biggest consumer of the metal, and strengthening dollar also weighed on the metal's prices.
