Nickel futures for April shed 70 paise, or 0.08%, to Rs 833.20 per kg in 375 lots.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the May contract went down marginally by 10 paise, or 0.01%, to Rs 841.40 per kg in 204 lots.
Nickel traded a shade lower as speculators reduced their positions amid subdued domestic demand.
Weakening trend in the base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) as weakness in Japanese and South Korean industrial output that added to global demand concerns affected the trade.
