Continuing its slide, nickel prices fell by Rs 6.30, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 934.80 per kg in futures trade on weak trend overseas amid low domestic demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, nickel for June contract fell by Rs 6.30, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 934.80 per kg, with a turnover of 1,321 lots.
The metal for delivery in July contract also traded Rs 5.80, or 0.61 per cent lower, at Rs 941 per kg, recording a turnover of 573 lots. At the London Metal Exchange, nickel fell $255, or 1.24 per cent to $20,350 per tonne.
Market analysts said weakening trend at the London Metal Exchange as concerns about economic recovery continued to weigh on the market sentiment.
Besides, subdued demand from alloy makers and other consumers at spot markets was another dampening factor, they added.
