Nickel falls by 0.6% due to muted spot demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Nickel prices today fell by another 0.59% to Rs 689 per kg in futures trade due to speculative selling amid weak spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in September was down by Rs 4.10, or 0.59%, to Rs 689 per kg in a business turnover of 1,012 lots.

The metal for delivery in October was also down by a similar margin to Rs 696.20 per kg in a turnover of 16 lots.

Analysts said fall in nickel prices in futures trade was mostly attributed easing demand from alloy-makers at the domestic spot markets.
