Nickel futures prices moved down by 1.69 per cent to Rs 1,161.70 per kg today on weak trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in March fell by Rs 20, or 1.69 per cent, to Rs 1,161.70 per kg, with a business turnover of 5,964 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in April shed Rs 19.70, or 1.66 per cent, to Rs 1,170 per kg, with a business volume of 409 lots.
Market analysts said apart from a weakening trend overseas, as the unfolding disaster in Japan continued to rattle the financial markets, subdued spot demand also put pressure on nickel futures prices.
