Amid sluggish spot demand and lack of cues from overseas market, nickel prices lost Rs 10.80 to Rs 1,102.60 per kg in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for October delivery fell by Rs 10.80, or 0.97%, to Rs 1,102.60 per kg, with an open interest of a single lot.
Likewise, the metal for August delivery shed Rs 1.20, or 0.11%, to Rs 1,093 per kg, with a business volume of 7,807 lots.
Market analysts said slackened demand from alloy makers at domestic spot markets and absence of positive cues from global markets led to the decline in nickel futures prices.
Meanwhile, nickel was trading flat at $24,540 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
