Nickel futures prices rose by Rs 11.20 to Rs 932.60 per kg today on emergence of buying by speculators amid firming trend in global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for September contract rose by Rs 11.20, or 1.22 per cent, to Rs 932.60 per kg, with an open interest of 62 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in July moved up by Rs 10.70, or 1.17 per cent to Rs 923 per kg, with an open interest of 16,821 lots.
Marketmen said fresh buying by traders on the back of a firming trend at the London Metal Exchange mainly pushed up nickel prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, nickel gained 1.3 per cent to $19,808 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
