Nickel prices gained Rs 4.60, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 909.60 per kg in futures market today, as traders created positions, propelled by good demand from alloy-makers at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for July-month rose Rs 4.60, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 909.60 per kg, with a turnover of 3,165 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in August-month gained Rs 4.40, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 915.70 per kg, with a business turnover of 260 lots.

Analysts said good demand from alloy-makers, helped nickel prices to recover at futures trade here but weak trend overseas, capped gains.
