Nickel gains 0.32% on global cues

Speculators created fresh positions pushing prices up prices to Rs 922 per kg

Nickel prices traded marginally higher by Rs 2.90 to Rs 922 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, taking a positive cues from overseas markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in January rose by Rs 2.90, or 0.32%, to Rs 922 per kg in business turnover of 12 lots.

The December contract edged up by 20 paise, or 0.02%, to Rs 910.60 per kg in 41 lots.

Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators in tandem with a firm global trend led to the rise in nickel futures.

Meanwhile, nickel advanced 0.2% at $16,965 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
