Tracking recovery in copper and other base metals, nickel rose by Rs 7.90 or 0.90 per cent to Rs 952 per kg in futures trade today. Pick up in demand at physical markets also influenced the nickel futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, nickel for July contract moved up by Rs 7.90, or 0.90 per cent to Rs 952 per kg, with a turnover of 381 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in June contract rose Rs 4.50, or 0.52 per cent to Rs 943.40 per kg, clocking of 4,858 lots.
Analysts said firming trend at physical markets on pick up in demand from domestic alloy makers led to a rise in the nickel futures prices.
