Nickel slides 0.43% on subdued spot demand

Sluggish demand from spot makers affects prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Nickel prices traded lower by 0.43% to Rs 1,145 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions on the back of sluggish demand from alloy-makers in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in July declined by Rs 5.90, or 0.43%, to Rs 1,145 per kg in business turnover of 777 lots.

August nickel traded lower by Rs 4.30, or 0.37%, to Rs 1,150 per kg in 37 lots.

Market analysts said the fall in nickel prices at futures trade was largely on sluggish demand from alloy-makers in the spot market.
