Nickel futures for June gained Rs 1.70, or 0.20%, to Rs 843.40 per kg in 42 lots.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the May contract rose by Rs 1.60, or 0.19%, to Rs 836.90 per kg in 808 lots.
Prices moved up as speculators enlarged their positions.

At the London Metal Exchange (LME), nickel gained 0.4% to $15,345 a tonne.
