Nickel prices fell by 0.75% to Rs 1,056.50 per kg in futures trade today amid a weakening global trend and sluggish demand from alloy makers at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for July delivery fell by Rs 8, or 0.75%, to Rs 1,056.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,295 lots.

August nickel shed Rs 6.50, or 0.61%, to Rs 1,066 per kg, with a turnover of 385 lots.

Market analysts said apart from sluggish demand from alloy makers at domestic markets, a weakening trend in the overseas market further pulled down nickel futures prices.
