 However, volumes were marginally higher at Rs 9,801.01 crore through 251,843 contracts. Tata Motors, Satyam, Tata Steel, Reliance Industries, Infosys and Maruti were the most active stock futures contracts.

 Meanwhile, the cumulative FII positions as percentage of total gross market position in the derivative segment fell 17.87 per cent on Tuesday.

 Nifty futures continued to trade at a premium to the spot Nifty. November Nifty futures shed 25.70 points to close at 1,545.85 while the NSE S&P CNX Nifty settled at 1,540.60. Nifty futures added six lakh shares in open positions in the futures segment.
