Nifty in red; DLF, RCom JP Associates weak

The NSE Nifty has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 12 points at 3,849.

Ranbaxy has soared 6.8% to Rs 437. ITC and Bharti Airtel have surged over 2% each to Rs 164 and Rs 726, respectively.

ONGC has gained 1.8% at Rs 860. Cipla and Satyam have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 210 and Rs 404, respectively.

Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra have plunged over 4.5% each to Rs 385 and Rs 498, respectively.

DLF has shed 3.5% at Rs 412. Reliance Communications has dropped 3% to Rs 394.

Jaiprakash (JP) Associates, Tata Steel and NTPC have declined 1.8% each to Rs 143, Rs 636 and Rs 160, respectively.

 

Hindalco, ACC and Grasim are down over 1% each at Rs 136, Rs 520 and Rs 1,681, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,252 stocks traded, 1,319 have declined and 850 have advanced.
