Anil Ambani group company Reliance Power rose 5.77 per cent to close at Rs 163.05 after the National Stock Exchange announced in a circular that Reliance Power would be replacing Dr Reddy's Laboratories in the S&P CNX Nifty index with effect from September 10. Similar changes will be made in the CNX 100 index as well.
The stock opened 1.85 per cent higher at Rs 157 (its low for the day) and made an intraday high of Rs 163.80, with volumes of 53,75,793 shares. The scrip has recovered 40 per cent from its July 2 low of Rs 116.30.
