Nifty off day's high again

The Nifty continues to display volatility and is now up 71 points at 4,470. The BSE Sensex is up 205 points at 15,048.

Market breadth remains positive with 61% stocks on the advancing side, while 35% are on the declining side.nifty

The Nifty is volatile and has slipped again from the day's high. The index is now at 4,466, up 67 points from the previous close.

Metal producers, Hindalco and Sterlite have surged 5% each to Rs 90 and Rs 601, respectively. ITC has gained 4% at Rs 227.

SAIL and DLF have added 3.5% each to Rs 173 and Rs 358, respectively.

 

Idea Cellular, Jindal Steel, Tata Motors, HCL Tech, Reliance Infrastructure, Axis BAnk, Unitech, Ranbaxy and Gail India have also moved up 2-3% each.

On the other hand, Sun Pharma continues to languish in red at Rs 1,217, down 3%. Bharti Airtel and Ambuja Cement have also dropped around 1.5% each.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex is up 196 points at 15,039.

The BSE consumer durables, metal and realty indices have gained considerably. The indices are up 3-4% each.

The market breadth is fairly positive. Out of 2,506 stocks traded 1,566 have advanced while 854 have declined.
