Nifty slips into red

The NSE Nifty has slipped into a low of 4,456,and is now at 4,463, down five points. Meanwhile the BSE Sensex is up 20 points, at 15,082.

The NSE Nifty has pared some of its gains, after touching a high of 4,557. The Index is now at 4,537, up 68 points

DLF and Sterlite have rallied over 5% to Rs 361 and Rs 625, respectively.

ONGC has surged nearly 5% to Rs 1,094 and ICICI Bank has increased over 4% to Rs 804.

Unitech, Suzlon and Reliance Capital have advanced 3.5% each to Rs 85, Rs 94 and Rs 902, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance Communications, Tata Motors, Tata Power, Sun Pharma and HDFC have added 2-3% each.

However, Cipla has declined over 1% to 279.

Meanwhile the BSE Sensex is at 15,304, up 241 points.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,434 stocks, 1,614have advanced and 725 have declined.
