NMDC dips as stock turns ex-dividend

Shares of NMDC have slipped 12% or by Rs 11.40 to Rs 81.80 on the BSE in early morning trade, after the stock was quoted ex-dividend for Rs 9.50 per share. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the stock hit a low of Rs 81.50 so far.

The board of directors of NMDC at its meeting held on February 12, 2016 had declared first interim dividend at the rate of Rs 9.50 per equity share on the face value of Re 1 each for the financial year 2015-16.

The company fixed February 25, 2016 as the "Record Date" for the purpose of payment of interim dividend.

At 09:33 AM, the stock was down 11% at Rs 82.75 on the BSE. A combined 4.67 million shares changed hands on the counter on the BSE and NSE.
